Venue

The summer school will take place in the lovely city of Pau located in the South-West of France. The event is co-organized by the "Probability and statistics" team of the Laboratoire de Mathématiques et de leurs Applications Pau and is hosted by the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour.

The lectures will take place on the main campus of the university at the "IUT des Pays de l'Adour", STID building (see "IUT STID" on the campus map). The university campus is approximately 2.5km North (30 min on foot) from the city center.

How to come to Pau?

By airplane (from Paris, Lyon or Marseille), by train (from Paris, Toulouse or Bordeaux) or by car. The flight from Paris takes roughly an hour. The TGV train from Paris takes in general around 6 hours.

Accommodation in Pau

There are several hotels around the university and many in the city center. Type for instance "hotel pau" in your favorite search engine and have for instance a look at the sites specialized in hotel booking. Two good-value-for-money hotels are A l'Hotel (5-10 min on foot from the summer school location) and Hotel Adour (in the city center, approximately 30 min on foot from the summer school location). A list of hotels is available on the (strange) website of the Office du Tourisme Pau Pyrénées.

How to reach the campus from the city center?

On foot: the university is approximately 30 min away from the city center (where the train station is).

By bus (time tables here):

with lines 2, 12, 13, 20 and 21, stop at "Leclerc Université",

with line 6, stop at "Faculté".

By bicycle: you can rent a bicycle for the day on the IDECYCLE website.
